Buckminster Fuller once said, "If you want to change how somone thinks, give up; you can not change how people think. Give them a tool, the use of which will cause them to think differently." The tiny house is just such a tool.

Progress - Summer 2011

Gold Tread Tiny House will be completed by the end of September 2011, and I hope to move in shortly thereafter.  It has been a wonderfully busy spring and summer of learning and building. Much has been accomplished. I have included many new photos documenting the past several month’s activities at the tiny house. Some can be viewed below,  and others on the slide show to the right of the blog.  The photos show the new spray foam insulation, the copper ridge cap going on, the interior siding going in with help of Nic and Angelica, the newly completed loft space and more.  I hope you enjoy them.

  1. Are you painting that house gold? Although it's stated in the title, I'm still wondering if everything will be colored gold... It would be nicer if the roof could be painted with a metallic color! Hehe... Anyway, it depends on you. Good luck and I hope you finish on time! ;)

  2. Will you be living there just over the summer or for the whole year? I don’t see anything wrong with that. I actually dream to live in a small wooden house. But hey, it has wheels! :D Nice. So that would be a mobile house. It already looks so welcoming, even from the outside. And I love that round window detail you’ve made. It must be thrilling to live in a place you’ve personally built up. Great job! ;) Tyrone Speelman
